48 Hour Film Challenge – 2001 March, 2001 marked the beginning of what could be an annual event for the DC area. Ten Teams, ten films of five minutes or more in length, and 48 hours to write, shoot, edit, and present. All of the teams met on Friday at 7:00 for a happy hour/launch party. At the party we drew genres out of a hat, and a prop, phrase, and character were drawn from hats as well. Each team had their own genre, but the prop and phrase and character were the same for all teams. For our team (team "poppycock") the parameters were genre: horror, prop: severed limb, phrase: "I made you what you are and I can just as easily break you", character: "Max" the repo man. As the event title suggests, it was indeed a challenging 48 hours. Would I do it again, sure - it was good fun. My lasting impression upon seeing all the films in the theater at the end was "I can't believe all of this was happening in the past two days, here in town."

The Robot Ball – 2001 The Robot Ball is Eric Keller's shinney metallic baby. Once a year, humans clad in trashcans, foil, cardboard, wires, and whatever else the "Home Depot" has to offer, converge upon the Velvet Lounge for an evening of the bizzare.

North of Dupont – 2000 Between Fall of '99 and Spring of '00 I gave several weekend days and nights to the shooting of the feature film, "North of Dupont". As a crew member, I got to wear several hats. My primary job was to take photos documenting the production, I also provided some assistance with lighting, and shooting.
